IT Asset Disposal
IT Asset Disposal (ITAD)
Excess Technology specialises in streamlined disposal of IT devices, while minimising costs and maximising financial return on your end-of-life IT assets. Over the last 9 years, our customers have depended on us to recycle their IT equipment, keep their data safe, and manage their complex, multifaceted IT asset disposal (ITAD) needs so their companies can thrive. Our ITAD professionals are highly experienced in the nuances of designing and implementing custom disposal plans that are efficient, secure, and environmentally sustainable. We guarantee our ITAD programs will meet and exceed your company’s expectations for quality and security.
Excess Technology ITAD Services:
Onsite packing, palletising and logistics
Excess Technology trains its technicians and drivers to be safe and compliant with applicable laws when handling material in the packing, palletising and logistics portion of the process. This training ensures your assets are protected and completely secure when handing them over. Assets are counted by type and cross checked on the bill of lading before leaving your premises and before transportation to an Excess Technology facility. Once material is loaded, Excess Technology’s vehicles remain sealed until material is unloaded at our facility.
Processing and Reporting
Upon arrival at our facility, materials are unloaded, evaluated, tested, and sorted for potential remarketing, recovery, or recycling. Excess Technology provides IT asset reporting and certification for all methods of destruction and disposal. These services protect our customers from liability by mitigating risks during the end-to-end IT asset disposal process.ITAD Data Security
Protecting your company’s sensitive data is our top priority, so we maintain complete chain of custody, provide serialized tracking, and issue certificates of data destruction and recycling. Excess Technology data security services include both the Data Sanitisation and Destruction methods, depending on the condition of the material and customer preferences. These practices are incorporated into our Remarketing, Recovery and Recycling models.Asset Remarketing and Re-use
We’re well-versed in the resale of a broad range of equipment and components, including telecommunications, medical, networking, and consumer electronics. Excess Technology maximises returns by salvaging both working and non-working units. Working units go through a battery of tests and performance upgrades before being offered through our established network of credible industry partners and retail channels. Non-working units go through the recovery process for parts, which are reused for repairs and upgrades.
- During both Remarketing and Recovery,Excess Technology uses data sanitisation. Hard drives can be swiped three (3) consecutive times using software in compliance with Department of Defence and NIST 800-88 standards.Data sanitisation works with a variety of devices including laptops, desktops, small servers, and mobile devices. We are capable of erasing any drive type (SATA, IDE, SCSI, SAS, FC)
- When Recycling, Excess Technology physically destroys the material. Our processing machines–including the mobile hard-drive crusher make data reconstruction impossible and eliminate the risk of data breaches for our customers. Data destruction works on hard drives, SSD cards, magnetic tapes, cell phones, and many other data-containing devices.

E-waste Recycling
The correct management of e-waste starts by keeping your old IT hardware and electronics out of landfill. There are costs associated with recycling e-waste. The first cost is the removal or collection, the second comes from recycling of e-waste and the third is from data destruction and hard drive shredding. If your company has old IT equipment that has been set aside for disposal, please contact Excess Technology to schedule a pickup. The cost of having your office’s e-waste collected and recycled may be less than you think and in some cases, it might even be FREE!
Removal & Collection
Having your IT assets and e-waste collected is simple; we offer a priority service that can be on a same day or a next day basis. Or we can arrange a collection in a week or on a day in the future that best suits your schedule.
Excess Technology offers a removal service which is flexible and designed to help you remove old IT and communications (ICT) hardware. Our removal engineers are experienced in removing everything from servers, large switches and routers, large storage systems to racks.
Onsite Data Erasure & Destruction
Excess Technology ensures that data from hard drives is erased using military grade software or crushed using DOD compliance hardware. Excess technology provides onsite or off-site data erasure and hard drive destruction service.
IT Asset Buyback
